Tips for couples to shine bright on their special day:

The skin care routine should preferably start at least three months prior to the wedding day. It should comprise sunblock to prevent tan. Avoid stepping in direct sunlight between 11 am to 4 pm, and if you have to, wear sunglasses, long sleeves shirts and wide brimmed hats. Use a facial moisturiser at night with Vitamin C, kojic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid and peptides for that glow. Don't forget to massage hands and feet with a nourishing moisturiser.

Dr Mohan Thomas, senior cosmetic surgeon, Breach Candy Hospital

Assess your skin by a trained physician to determine the extent of facial pores, acne scars and pigmentation. A peel might help dissolve dry skin, or allow the oil to be removed. Face cleansing lotions as well as volumising and antipigmentation creams will be advised. Laser toning is recommended for those with fi ne lines and uneven skin tones. One month before the wedding day, go for depigmenting facials. One week before, meet your specialist to take care of any eruptions.

I'd recommend Vitamin C brightening treatments every two weeks, followed by laser treatments to target pigmentation and fi ne lines, followed by full body polishing. Common concerns are acne, acne marks, dark circles, hair fall etc. There are even party fi x treatments for the ceremonies before the wedding. The Oxyrevive treatment infuses 99 per cent of hyperbaric oxygen with a cocktail infusion of serum that gives a fresh, rejuvenated look for each event.

Dr Batul Patel, medical director and Dermatologist, The Bombay Skin Clinic

Tablets rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C supplements help protect the skin against sun damage. Microneedling is recommended for acne scars. For a general glow, do a glycolic peel or a medi-facial. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables that are low in sugar and carbohydrates for glowing and healthy skin. Drink ample water and get good sleep. Your skin will thank you for it. Avoid eating fried and high sugar food items. Avoid face bleaching and back waxing just before the wedding to keep allergic reactions at bay.
