Everyone loves the weekend, but as Sunday kicks in, the fear of Monday also takes over. For many, the start of the week triggers a feeling of anxiety, sadness and stress. So how do you deal with Monday blues?

The first thing to do is understand what's creating this scare. If you dread Mondays most weeks, then it's not a laughing matter. It's a sign that you're unhappy at work. Fix this by identifying the issue.

We get it. Start of the week can kick in with extra workload and a list of pending things to do. You can ditch the Monday fears by preparing in advance. By wrapping your least favourite tasks on Friday or Saturday, you will not have anything "unpleasant" waiting for you on Monday.

Make a list of things you're looking forward to do next week. For starters, write down three things that you are excited to do next week. This list will act as a motivator.

If you're someone who stresses over Monday easily, then try to have a nice downtime over the weekend with no access to your work email. Avoid checking on your work e-mail or job related things on days that are meant to relax and unplug.

A lot of people get the Monday blues especially after a bad night of sleep on Sunday. One way to counter this is going to bed early and getting that comforting, long sleep. Top it up by waking up 15 to 20 minutes before than your usual Alarm time.

It's true when some people say that their personality changes as per their clothes. Pump up your spirit and enthusiasm by dressing well for work on Monday.

This may be a cliché but having a positive attitude helps tremendously. When you start recognising the perks of your job, going back to office after a fun weekend will not seem so bad.

Your Monday shouldn't just be about work. Make some room for yourself and things that you like. You can turn your day and mood around by going out, enjoying your favourite meal or meeting a dear friend post work.
