A precious, heart-warming moment between an overwhelmed Turkish lady planting a peck on the cheek of an Indian Army woman personnel was captured in a picture.

The official Twitter account of the Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) of the Indian Army shared the image with the world with capture: "We care."

The picture captures a heart-touching candid moment between a Turkish old lady and Indian Army woman soldier as rescue operations carry on around-the-clock in earthquake-hit Turkey.


Many people on Twitter praised the Indian Army's ongoing rescue efforts in Turkey as part of 'Operation Dost'. The Indian Army has sent medical supplies, medical professionals, teams to carry out search-and-rescue operations, a mobile hospital to Turkey to find survivors through the rubble and bring them to safety.

"The most beautiful picture of the day. God bless our armed forces. Jai Hind. Salutations," wrote one Twitter user, which another called the image 'picture of the year'.
"Brave with our enemies and loving, caring to people always. Salute to everything you do. Passion, dedication and perseverance. Jai Hind," wrote another user.
Fanatic search-and-rescue operations are being carried out across Turkey which was hit with two massive earthquakes a few days ago that killed over 17,000 people.

A magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck Turkey's southern province of Kahramanmaras, followed by a magnitude 6.4 quake a few minutes later in the country's southern province of Gaziantep and a magnitude 7.6 earthquake in Kahramanmaras province, Xinhua news agency reported.

In Syria, 1,678 people were killed in government-held areas, and the death toll in the opposition-held region stood at 2,190, according to media reports.

The number of casualties is expected to increase further once the search efforts are over across a wide area of 10 provinces. Experts warned that the chances of saving lives have dropped sharply after 72 hours of the quakes that hit the country on Monday.
