We are family! Isha Ambani was accompanied by Shloka Mehta's sister Diya at Met Gala 2023

Met Gala 2023 was a special night for India as a number of desi personalities walked the invitation-only red carpet on Tuesday.

While Priyanka Chopra's look and Alia Bhatt’s Met debut caught a lot of attention, Reliance Retail Director Isha Ambani's glamorous and private appearance also won hearts.

Not many noticed, but the 31-year-old was accompanied by her close friend Diya Mehta Jatia, who is also the sibling of Isha's sister-in-law Shloka Mehta. The fashion consultant, who wore a black and green outfit by designer Prabal Gurung on the red carpet, has styled her sister Shloka on many occasions - hosted by the Ambanis.


On Thursday evening, Shloka's go-to stylist took to Instagram to dedicate an adorable post for Isha, who also wore a Prabal Gurung creation to Met Gala. Alongside a string of images, she wrote, "Always by your side," tagging Isha's private Instagram account.

Mehta Jatia added extra charm to her beautiful black-green outfit with a Radha-Krishna hair accessory, which is from her mother's collection.

After her red carpet appearance, she posted on Instagram, "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty. At the Met Gala 2023... celebrating the legacy of a man who defined fashion and style as we know today. For me, fashion is all about breaking barriers and blending cultures... And today seemed the perfect way to do that! I'm honoured to represent my heritage on this global platform by adding a touch of India to this stunning Prabal Gurung outfit. An unforgettable night of glamour, fashion, and art awaits!"

Meanwhile, Isha was a stunner on the Met red carpet in a black satin saree, created with thousands of crystals and pearls hand-embellishments extended into a long floor-length train.

The fashion's biggest night out is a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year's theme was 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty', based on the new Costume Institute exhibition exploring the work of the iconic late designer. Lagerfeld died in 2019 at the age of 85.
