WD My Passport Wireless Pro review: This is your best bet if you want a 'smart' portable hard drive
The internal 6,400mAh battery lasts up to 8 hours for streaming video.

Portable hard drives are usually rectangular but the WD Wireless Pro is square — it stands apart from the get-go! We like the sturdy construction but it is on the heavier side. That's because of the added functionality, built in battery and ports. Apart from being a regular USB 3.0 hard drive, it has wi-fi, an SD card slot, USB 3.0 connector (computer connectivity) and a full size USB 2.0 port. You can use this port to charge a phone or transfer data from a USB drive to the Wireless Pro drive.
If you insert an SD card or USB flash drive, the drive automatically copies all data on it. It's also smart enough to copy only new content (if you insert a previously used card). The drive creates its own wi-fi network and if you connect to that, you can access the data wirelessly. There is also a Plex server built-in, so you can use it as a media hub to stream content to a smart TV that has the Plex app installed. The internal 6,400mAh battery lasts up to 8 hours for streaming video. It's great for multimedia junkies or photographers who are always on the move.
