Watch: How regional stand-up comedy is going mainstream

Kerala's 16th century performing art form Chakyar Koothu is the oldest style of stand-up comedy in an Indian language. Even before English stand-up gained prominence in the metros and Zakir Khan emerged as the ‘Sakht Launda’ of Hindi comedy, stand-up was thriving in many regional languages, perhaps in a different shape and form.
