Bengaluru’s notorious traffic jams have once again sparked online humor, with a viral post turning the city's gridlock into a mock tourism package. Former Infosys director Mohandas Pai shared an image sarcastically promoting a "4-day, 3-night Bangalore Tourism" experience, featuring the city’s worst traffic hotspots—Outer Ring Road, Silk Board Junction, Marathahalli, and HSR Layout—as key destinations. Frustrated by the ongoing congestion, Pai called it “a sad joke on Bengaluru,” adding that while residents may laugh at their misery, the government remains indifferent.

Sharing a text reading, “Bangalore Tourism is organising a 4 day 3 nights trip to the following four destinations - Outer Ring Road, Silkboard Junction, Marathalli & HSR layout. Its called 'Chaar Jam Yatra'”, he called it a “sad joke on Bengaluru”. He further mentioned about having a sense of humour about the suffering and “an uncaring government.”

Internet reacts

A user pointed out that while the joke itself wasn’t sad, the fact that it wasn’t written in Kannada might disappoint some locals. Another sarcastically suggested adding the Whitefield-Hoskote stretch to the mock tourism package, highlighting the garbage piles lining the roads. Some found humor in the post, with one noting that traffic has slightly improved with the Silk Board flyover to HSR. Others took a more serious approach, attributing congestion to single-occupancy cars and SUVs, suggesting that reducing their use could cut traffic density by half. Meanwhile, a few defended Mohandas Pai, emphasizing that despite having the means to leave, he chooses to stay and advocate for Bengaluru, showing his dedication to making it a truly global city.
