Wall Street’s bachelor party planner

Lee Abbamonte’s clients want more than the clichéd “stripper and steak” experience.

Wall Street’s bachelor party planner
When Wall Streeters want a wild bachelor bash, they call Lee Abbamonte, who has been called New York’s most lavish bachelor party planner, in a New York magazine.

Abbamonte, a 35-year-old self-described “global adventurer”, plans $10,000+ per person bachelor parties, mostly for Wall Street guys or very private celebrities.

In his interview he reveals that most of clients (wealthy bachelors) like unique experiences like Soviet-era tank riding. The travel expert (he was the youngest American to visit every country at 32) started planning the parties in 2008 after getting requests from strangers after blogging about his own adventures.

According to him Ukraine’s capital Kiev is a great city to have an over-the-top bachelor party due to its late Eastern European nights (ending around 7 am) and G.I. Joe-esque adventures like driving tanks and shooting things.

Abbamonte’s parties veer towards things with more “shock value”. The craziest party he ever planned took place in Las Vegas, and cost more than Rs 12 lakh per person, which included a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, racing non-street-legal Ferraris at 180 miles an hour, shooting machine guns in the Mojave desert, and flying F-16 fighter jets.
