Speaking the local language is probably the most difficult task for a foreign national based in India. Steffen Knapp, director, Volkswagen India, has taken it in his stride to bridge that gap. Even though it's been just over a month since Knapp moved to India, he's picked up a few words in Hindi already.

"On a day to day basis, I interact with my colleagues and learn new Hindi words from them. So far I have learnt words like Namaste, Gaadi and few others. I hope to learn a lot more from these daily conversations," Knapp told ETPanache.

Knapp is adjusting to his new life in the country doing the two things he likes the most - reading and football. "While I travel, I like the company of a good book and when I am home, I prefer catching up with my friends over the weekend and watching a football game. I have always been into fitness and football plays a big role in it," he said.

So what is his fitness routine like? "I make a conscious effort to maintain my fitness level, go on regular runs, eat healthy and maintain a strict fitness regimen," Knapp said.
