Vivo X70 Pro+ review: A sharpshooter par excellence

The Vivo X70 Pro+ is the latest flagship from Vivo and has its most advanced gimbal camera technology, a dedicated image processor, and the latest chipset. It isn’t just any premium smartphone with top-notch internals. It has a proportionate and balanced design, with both the front display and the back panel exactly the same. Not only does it add to the entire aesthetics, but it also enhances comfort while holding the smartphone.

The camera housing also has an extension that has a mirrorlike finish. The rectangular camera housing is placed vertically and at times gets in the way while holding the smartphone. The 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED display is vibrant, clear, and sharp. It has a good brightness level too. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 888+ paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

It’s a flagship processor. Multiple apps and games run without a lag, delay or stutter. The phone comes with a quad rear camera setup of 50MP + 48MP (gimbal) + 12MP + 8MP. There’s a 32MP sensor at the front. Vivo has also added Zeiss optics and a dedicated V1 image processor to enhance image quality. Image quality from the primary 50MP sensor is sharp, detai led and vivid.


The 48MP gimbal ultrawide sensor also offers impressive image output without distortion. The smartphone also comes with a dedicated Zeiss colour mode and portrait modes like Biotar, Polar and Sonar. This is among the best camera smartphones in the market. The video stabilisation feature is so good that one doesn’t even notice shakes in a video shot in a moving car.
