Vivek Oberoi's first look as PM Modi revealed; CM Fadnavis says film will create history

Oberoi, sporting a saffron kurta, stands in front of the Tricolour in first look from the biopic.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched the first poster of Vivek Oberoi's upcoming film based on the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Also present at the Mumbai poster lauch were director Omung Kumar, producer Sandip Ssingh, Vivek Oberoi along with father Suresh Oberoi in Mumbai.

In his first look as Modi, the actor is seen in a saffron colour kurta, a white beard and spectacles. The poster features Oberoi standing in front of the Tricolour.

Taking to Twitter, Fadnavis said, "This is film is set to create history today with the poster launch of a film based on the life of world leader born in India, a RajYogi in true sense! Congratulations to this team who is going to be a winning team, eventually !"

The film, which will be released in 23 languages, will see the 'Inside Edge' actor essay the role role of PM Modi. Titled 'PM Narendra Modi', the biopic is being helmed by Omung Kumar, who is known for 'Mary Kom' and 'Sarbjit', and produced by Sandip Ssingh.

Earlier, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh had announced the news of the film on his Twitter handle, writing, "IT’S OFFICIAL... Vivekanand Oberoi [Vivek Oberoi] to star in Narendra Modi biopic, titled #PMNarendraModi... Directed by Omung Kumar... Produced by Sandip Singh... First look poster will be launched on 7 Jan 2019... Filming starts mid-Jan 2019."

Reportedly, the film will be shot across Gujarat, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, among other locations in the country.
