“I lost my childhood sweetheart to blood cancer when I was 18. She was 17. Saw her passing away in front of my eyes, ” he recalled.
Vivek reflected on his childhood, remembering how he first experienced love at the age of 13. At that young stage, it felt like innocent affection, the kind where small gestures such as exchanging cards carried immense meaning.
In his mind, there was complete certainty that the girl he adored would one day become his wife. Together, they even dreamt about a future filled with marriage, children, and a lifetime spent side by side. “She was my best friend, she was everything,” he revealed.
However, fate took an unexpected turn. The girl was suddenly diagnosed with a serious illness in January, and within just a couple of months, by March, she had passed away, leaving behind a heartbreaking void in the tender love story he once believed would last forever.
In a conversation with Men’s XP, Vivek revisited the painful memories of that time. He remembered repeatedly trying to get in touch with the girl he loved, but his calls went unanswered. She had earlier mentioned feeling unwell, something he dismissed as nothing more than a mild infection or a seasonal cold.
When neither she nor her family could be reached, he decided to contact her cousin, who revealed that she had been admitted to the hospital. Rushing there in panic, he discovered the harsh truth. After spending five to six years in a deep and meaningful relationship with the person he considered the love of his life, he was told that she was battling the final stage of acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
On the work front, Oberoi was last seen in the period action drama 'Kesari Veer.' Helmed by Prince Dhiman, the movie the project has been jointly backed by Rajen Chauhan, Heena Chauhan, Suhraj Chauhan, and Ohm Chauhan. At the helm is Kanubhai Chauhan of Chauhan Studios, who not only produced the film but also co-wrote and co-directed it. The cast brings together Suniel Shetty, Oberoi, Sooraj Pancholi, and Akanksha Sharma in pivotal roles.
The narrative revolves around the legendary Rajput warrior Hamirji Gohil, who rose in defiance against the Tughlaq dynasty. His courageous stand was aimed at safeguarding the revered Somnath Temple from desecration, marking his legacy as a protector of faith and heritage.
