Chiranjeevi’s much-awaited Vishwambhara has been stuck in the release-date limbo for a long time, leaving fans with very little clarity about when they will finally get to watch the fantasy adventure on the big screen. Now, after months of uncertainty, there appears to be some movement around the film’s release plans, with a major development reportedly clearing one of the hurdles that had delayed its theatrical arrival.

The latest reports suggest that the makers are now preparing to work on a fresh release date. An official announcement is expected soon, although the exact date has not been confirmed yet. Sankranthi 2027 is being discussed as one possible window for the film, as per M9 News.

What is the latest Vishwambhara OTT update?

The digital deal for Vishwambhara is reportedly now finalised. According to 123Telugu report, Amazon Prime Video has acquired the digital rights to the Chiranjeevi-starrer after competition from other leading streaming platforms, including Netflix.


The OTT agreement had reportedly become an important part of the film’s release planning. With the non-theatrical business now said to be settled, the makers have more clarity to move ahead with their theatrical plans.

However, there is still no confirmed OTT streaming date. The film is expected to arrive on the platform only after its theatrical run, and the makers or streaming service are yet to announce the exact timeline.

When will Vishwambhara release in theatres?

There is currently no official theatrical release date for Vishwambhara. Reports indicate that the team could announce a new date soon following the reported completion of the digital deal.

Sankranthi 2027 is being considered as one possible release window. A festival release could give the film a better opportunity to attract family audiences and Chiranjeevi fans across Telugu-speaking states as well as other markets.

But there is another Chiranjeevi film to consider. Kaaka, directed by Bobby Kolli, is currently scheduled for January 13, 2027, during the Sankranthi period. This has raised questions about whether Vishwambhara will actually occupy the same festival window or whether either film will eventually move.

UV Creations is producing the film, with Oscar-winning composer M.M. Keeravaani handling the music. GowraHari is associated with the additional score.
