Virat Kohli grooves to ‘Lungi Dance’ on cricket field, video goes viral

Virat Kohli has gone viral on the social media.

The ex-India skipper was seen grooving to the tunes of the hit song ‘Lungi Dance’ (from the 2015 blockbuster ‘Chennai Express’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone) with his team ahead of the third ODI match between India and Australia at Chennai. In a now-viral video, the ace cricketer can be seen breaking into an energetic dance to the chartbuster. After a while, he is joined by Ravindra Jadeja.

A Kohli fan shared the video clip on Twitter, and captioned it, “King Kohli’s great dance.”

As regards the match, Australian skipper Steve Smith won the toss and chose to bat first against the Indian team in the ODI match.

Earlier, Kohli made news when he was seen dancing to ‘Naatu Naatu’ the chartbuster from the 2022 mega-hit movie ‘RRR’. The cricket icon, who has been going through a career drought, bounced back to glory with a vengeance as he scored an impressive 186-run knock in the fourth and final Test match (against Australia) in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

In an interview with South African cricketer AB de Villiers, Kohli opened up about dealing with career setbacks and how scoring well helped him relax. He revealed that in the past two years, he has been less than satisfied with his on-field performance. He said that while he was scoring decently, he felt he was doing little to push his barriers and excel.

“I pride myself on performing for the team to the best of my ability, I certainly wasn’t doing that enough. I wanted to score big runs, that’s something that always propelled me, whether it was at home or away. I was not having the same kind of impact I had before. I was not happy, despite getting decent scores,” he confessed.
