It wasn't known if his actress-wife Anushka Sharma also got inoculated .

Virat Kohli urged his 115 million Instagram followers to get vaccinated soon.
Team India captain Virat Kohli got his first does of Covid-19 vaccine has got a dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on Monday.

In his Instagram Story, alongside a picture of himself, the 32-year-old cricketer urged his 115 million followers to get the jab as soon as they can. "Vaccinate as soon as you can please. Stay safe," he wrote.

It wasn't known if his actress-wife Anushka Sharma also got inoculated.

Last week, Virushka started a fundraiser campaign #InThisTogether to help people of India deal with the crisis triggered by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The couple donated Rs 2 crore for this initiative. In collaboration with crowd-funding platform Ketto, the couple aim to raise Rs 7 crore. The proceeds from the fundraiser will go to ACT Grants. With 15973 donations - and counting, the initiative has so far raised over Rs 4.83 crore.

Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were the first team to have a match postponed due to Covid-19 cases within the bio-bubble that was created for the 2021 IPL. RCB's match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was postponed May 3 after two KKR players tested positive for Covid-19. With more cases emerging within the bubbles in Ahmedabad and New Delhi, the tournament itself was postponed indefinitely.
