Vijay Sethupathi to battle it out with Allu Arjun in ‘Pushpa’ sequel. 'Vikram' star will also lock horns with SRK in ‘Jawan’
Vijay Sethupathi was last seen alongside Kamal Haasan in ‘Vikram’.

Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil will be seen reprising the role of SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. According to reports, Sethupathi shares a close bond with director Sukumar. The actor was earlier approached to play the forest officer in the first part, however, due to various reasons, Sethupathi could not take up the part.
At present, Sukumar is finalising the script and cast for the sequel. Reports also suggest that in order to capitalise on the film’s popularity, the makers are expanding its scale and mass appeal.
‘Pushpa: The Rise’ chronicled the story of a commoner who rises through ranks in a crime syndicate. Allu Arjun played the titular character while Rashmika Mandanna was seen as the female lead. The film also had a guest appearance by Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The first part ended with Pushpa igniting a clash between him and the ruthless cop played by Fahadh Faasil. The sequel to the film is expected to take their differences to the next level.

Meanwhile, the ‘Super Deluxe’ actor is expected to play the villain in film-maker Atlee’s next ‘Jawan’ starring Shah Rukh Khan. Sethupathi is expected to join the shoot in the coming weeks. While there has been no official confirmation from the makers, fans have started sharing an old video where Sethupathi is seen being praised by the Bollywood superstar.
