Bollywood actor Kunal Kemmu's second directorial, Vibe, released in theatres on Friday (September 18). The film marks his return to the director's chair after Madgaon Express. While the action-comedy has received positive responses from some viewers, it has had a slow start at the box office. Now, there is an update about where the film will be available to watch on OTT after its theatrical run.

Streaming details of Vibe

According to Deadline May report, Vibe will stream on Prime Video after its theatrical run. Amazon MGM Studios is presenting the film in theatres before its digital premiere on the streaming platform.

However, the makers have not yet announced the exact OTT release date. For now, audiences can watch the Kunal Kemmu directorial on the big screen.

Kunal Kemmu returns as director with Vibe

Vibe is Kunal Kemmu's second film as a director after Madgaon Express, which was released in 2024. The actor has also written the new film and plays one of its lead characters.

The action-comedy revolves around two close friends, Hardik and Bugs, whose simple lives take an unexpected turn. What begins as an ordinary existence soon turns into a high-stakes adventure involving Indian intelligence agencies. As the two friends find themselves caught up in the mission, their friendship and survival skills are put to the test.

The film attempts to combine comedy with action and follows the unexpected situations the two friends encounter along the way. Kemmu has once again moved behind the camera while also taking on a central role in the story.

Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava lead the cast

The film features Kunal Kemmu alongside Preity G Zinta and Laapataa Ladies actor Sparsh Shrivastava. Vanshika Dhir makes her acting debut with the film.

For Preity Zinta, Vibe marks another big-screen appearance after her recent return to films. Her presence adds another familiar face to the cast, while Sparsh Shrivastava takes on one of the central roles as Bugs.

Kemmu and Chirag Nihalani have produced Vibe under their Drongo Films banner. The film is also the first production from the banner. Amazon MGM Studios is presenting the movie in cinemas ahead of its eventual release on Prime Video.

Vibe box office collection day-wise

Despite positive responses, Vibe has recorded a slow start at the domestic box office. According to Sacnilk, the film earned around Rs 1.50 crore net in India on its opening day. It was screened across 3,194 shows and recorded an overall occupancy of 13.38%.

The film's occupancy increased as the day progressed. Morning shows recorded around 6% occupancy, while afternoon shows reached 11.31%. Evening occupancy stood at around 14%.

Delhi-NCR recorded the highest occupancy among the major cities listed, with around 13% across 440 shows. Pune, Kolkata and Hyderabad registered approximately 11% occupancy each. Mumbai also recorded around 11% occupancy across 328 shows.

Interestingly, Vibe opened with a similar figure to Kemmu's previous directorial, Madgaon Express. The 2024 comedy also earned around Rs 1.50 crore net on its opening day before finding a larger audience during its theatrical and subsequent streaming run.

The latest film has also crossed the opening-day collections of Ek Din, starring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, and Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaunga, both of which reportedly earned around Rs 1.15 crore on their opening days.

As Vibe continues its theatrical run, its performance over the coming days will determine how far it can grow at the box office. Stay tuned!
