Kannada actress Bhargavi Narayan passes away at 83, Sandalwood stars pay tribute
The actress had appeared in several films, plays, and television serials.

The news of the actress’s death was confirmed by her granddaughter Samyukta Hornad on Instagram. “My grandma, Bhargavi Narayan, Ajji Bhajji to all, passed away at around 7.30 pm this evening, 14/2/2022. The body will be kept at our family home - Greenroom, 276/C, 37th A Cross, 8th Block Jayanagar, till 11 AM tomorrow, 15th Feb,” Hornad posted on Instagram along with an image of the late actress.
Bhargavi’s noted films include ‘Eradu Kanasu’, ‘Hanthakana Sanchu’, ‘Pallavi Anupallavi’, ‘Vamshavriksha’, ‘Professor Hucchuraya’, ‘Baa Nalle Madhuchandrake’, etc. The actress also appeared on television shows such as ‘Mukta’ besides appearing in hundreds of plays.
Bhargavi was born on February 4, 1938. She went on to act in numerous critically acclaimed films. She has worked with several stalwarts of Kannada cinema. Bhargavi even shared the screen with late Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar in ‘Prince’.
Soon after the news broke, several fans of Kannada cinema took to social media to share their grief. There has been an outpour of condolence messages on Twitter from the Kannada film industry.
