Veteran director Shyam Benegal unveils poster of his latest film ‘Mujib - The Making of a Nation’, a biopic on Bangladesh founder
The movie has been in the making for over two years.

The film is being produced under an audiovisual co-production agreement between India and Bangladesh. Rahman was known for providing leadership that led to the independence of Bangladesh in 1971. The former leader had met Mahatma Gandhi in his early days and had looked upon him as a source of inspiration to empower the masses.
Benegal’s upcoming movie celebrates the life of Rahman and recounts the visionary leader’s accomplishments that continue to inspire millions. Announced around two years ago, the film’s poster marks its completion.

The 87-year-old film-maker has been conferred the Padma Shri (1976), the Padma Vibhushan (1991), Dadasaheb Phalke Award (2005) among many other honours during his career.
Benegal began his career with the Gujarati documentary ‘Gher Betha Ganga’. He was a noted figure in the new wave film movement of India with films such as ‘Ankur’ (1973), ‘Nishant’ (1975), ‘Manthan’ (1976) and ‘Bhumika’ (1977). Three of his films such as ‘Mammo’ (1994), ‘Sardari Begum’ (1996), ‘Zubeida’ (2001) went on to win National Film Awards.
