Vegetarian and vegan food choices are becoming a priority for most travellers
With vegetarian and vegan food choices catching on more than ever, dietary preferences during vacations has become a priority. A survey conducted by a travel company, with a sample size of 5,000 respondents, found that among popular travel destinations, Israel tops the list as the most vegetarian friendly destination. With over 400 vegan and vegan friendly establishments, Tel Aviv has become a hotspot, the survey added.

Further establishing Israel’s grip as the top veggie friendly destination, the survey adds that apart from restaurants and pizza chains serving animal-free pizza, every September, the city also hosts the Vegan-Fest, one of the world’s largest vegan festivals. Highlighting the importance of food preferences, the survey revealed that cuisine is the most important factor for Indians when they look for holiday destinations. Thirty per cent of vegetarian travellers scout for a vegetarian restaurant after they have selected a destination, and 70 per cent choose their destination based on accessibility to food of their choice.
