'Veerappan' trailer out, Ram Gopal Varma presents another dark story
Director Ram Gopal Varma is back with his yet-another real-life themes. This time it's the Hindi remake of Kannada film 'Killing Veerappan', titled 'Veerappan' for the Hindi-speaking audience.

Produced by BV Manjunath, the film is based on Veerappan, one of India's most infamous sandalwood smugglers, who killed 97 policemen, 184 civilians and 900 elephants during his two-decade jungle reign. It took almost 20 years to kill him and the just-released trailer is a testimony to the way in which Veerappan had managed to hoodwink the police for a long time.

Earlier this month, the film's unit also released a new motion poster of the biopic. Veerappan is played by actor Sandeep Bharadwaj who has essayed the same role in the Kannada version of the film.

Interestingly, the film is slated to be released on May 27, which clashes with Varma's arch nemesis and director Anurag Kashyap's 'Raman Raghav'.
