Vandana Malik designs her line of designer day blankets
Malik has designed the blankets, traditionally known as dohars, on the concept of colour therapy. She'll debut them this month under her label Nazar Batto.

Wondering over the curious choice? Malik says nonchalantly, "I wish I could call myself a designer. It's just my creative streak." Malik exited one of the biggest media networks in May and has had her hands full with her granddaughter Imara since (actor Imran Khan and Avantika Malik's baby).

Blankets and television may seem like chalk and cheese, but Malik says that the common thread is creativity.
"The key is to visualise how the product will look once it is ready. So they (TV and designing blankets) are the same. Only thing that has changed is the medium," she says. She is looking at expanding her range to design clothes as well.
