Streaming details of Uyir
The makers have now confirmed that Uyir will begin streaming on JioHotstar from August 4. The announcement comes a little over a month after the film hit theatres on June 26, giving those who missed it on the big screen a chance to watch it from home.Uyir stars Roshan Mathew as probationary sub-inspector Ajeeb Rahman, a young police officer posted at the Dharmadam Police Station in Kannur, Kerala. His first major investigation begins when the decomposed body of an unidentified woman is found inside an abandoned well.
Initially, the case appears to be straightforward, but Ajeeb soon notices inconsistencies that make him question the early assumptions. Working alongside his assistant officer Joy, he identifies the woman as Shobha, a local manual labourer, through a distinctive tattoo.
As the investigation progresses, Ajeeb starts uncovering hidden connections that stretch beyond Kerala and into multiple states. His search for answers leads him to Shobha's estranged husband, Raju, while revealing a much larger network of events than anyone had expected.
The case also forces Ajeeb to confront his own past. Haunted by the disappearance of his younger sister during childhood, he begins drawing parallels between the old tragedy and the current investigation. What starts as a murder probe gradually transforms into an emotional search for closure, making the film more than just a conventional police thriller.
