OTT details of Ustaad Bhagat Singh
According to 123Telugu and OTTplay reports, the OTT rights of Ustaad Bhagat Singh have been acquired by Netflix for a deal reportedly worth around Rs 80 crore. The film is expected to premiere on the platform after completing its theatrical run, giving audiences another chance to watch the action-packed entertainer from home.Apart from Pawan Kalyan, the movie features Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna in key roles. Directed by Harish Shankar, the film promises a mix of action, drama and mass entertainment designed to appeal to a wide audience.
Interestingly, the OTT deal reportedly came together quite early in the film’s production. In a recent interview, Harish Shankar shared how the agreement with Netflix was finalised after the streaming platform watched only a small amount of early footage from the film. According to the director, the movie had completed just a few days of shooting when he decided to compile some of the initial scenes he had saved.
Harish Shankar explained that he edited these clips into a short presentation, similar to a teaser, and shared it with the streaming platform’s team. He said that after watching the footage, the executives were impressed with what they saw and quickly decided to move forward with the deal. The director suggested that the response from the platform gave the team additional confidence in the project.
More about Ustaad Bhagat Singh
The film’s release date announcement also created headlines because of the potential box office clash. Ustaad Bhagat Singh will release on the same day as Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is another highly anticipated action sequel. The two big films arriving on the same date could lead to an interesting competition at the ticket windows.Originally, the release date was March 26, because it also coincided with the planned release of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups starring Yash. However, the makers of Toxic later postponed their film to June, clearing the way for the March 19 releases.
Amid the growing buzz, Harish Shankar also addressed rumours about the film’s storyline. Some reports had suggested that Ustaad Bhagat Singh might be a remake of Theri starring Vijay. However, the director has dismissed these claims, stating that the new project is not a remake and has its own original story.
The film is also important because it reunites Pawan Kalyan with Harish Shankar after their earlier blockbuster collaboration Gabbar Singh. Their previous partnership was widely loved by audiences, and fans are now eager to see the duo recreate that magic on the big screen once again. Stay tuned!
