US President Barack Obama to host 'Selma' screening
WASHINGTON: President Barack Obama will hold a screening of 'Selma', a historical drama on Martin Luther King Jr, at The White House.

Director Ava DuVernay and her cast are invited to the screening, which will take place at The White House, reported the Washington Post.

The film, which stars David Oyelowo as King, earned Oscar nominations for Best Picture, original song, but failed to get nominations for director DuVernay or Oyelowo.

The film tells the backstory of King's 1965 civil rights march in Alabama from Selma to Montgomery.

The film will also be watched by Common, who collaborated with John Legend on the song 'Glory', which earned a best original song) Oscar.
