US House Majority whip receives the Mahatma Gandhi Global Peace Award

Sudhakar Gande, founder and chairman of US-India SME Council, which hosted the first Annual Incredible 50 Awards Inc in Washington, USA, presented the prestigious Mahatma Gandhi Global Peace Award to House of Majority whip James E Clyburn for his outstanding contribution to global leadership initiatives.

In his keynote acceptance address, Congressman Clyburn said that he has an image of Mahatma Gandhi, apart from other notable Americans in his office. He also shared that he became an admirer of Mahatma Gandhi after reading and understanding his philosophy.

The awards were established to recognise 25 companies in India and 25 companies in the US after evaluating their growth, revenue and other key features over a three-year period.


Speaking at the award function, Gande recognised the work done by the US and Indian governments to revive the economy in recent times. He appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s support for the SME Sector.

The Permanent Representative of India to UN, TS Tirumurti, was also present at the event.
