Unnai Maatrinaal: A tribute song for Abdul Kalam in 'Ko2'

The team of Ko2 has come up with a tribute song to the late former president Abdul Kalam.We hear that awardwinning lyricist Na Muthukumar has written a song, Unnai Maatrinaal, which has many of Kalam’s popular quotes.

Confirming the news, director Sharath says, "We didn’t plan this tribute, it just happened. Kalam’s quotes have inspired me a lot in my life. So, the song Unnai Maatrinaal, is based on his quotes. Actually, we had planned a song based on Kalam’s quotes much before he passed away. However, we decided to make it a tribute song to the missile man, only after his demise. We have recorded this song recently and Harish Sivaramakrishnan from band Agam has sung this song, which has been composed by Leon James. Unfortunately Kalam sir is not with us to hear the song." He adds, "This will be the title song of Ko2. It will also be there in the background score all through the film. Basically it will be the theme song of the film."

The film, which has Simhaa and Nikki Galrani in the lead, is nearing completion, with just couple of songs and a few scenes left to be shot. The final shooting schedule began in the city yesterday.
