United we stand: InMobi CEO on the three other founders besides himself

Two’s company, three’s a crowd, but if you want to know about "the power of four", ask Naveen Tewari. In a recent social media post, the InMobi CEO wrote about why he was glad that the Bengaluru-based company had three other founders besides himself.

Apart from being friends and fellow students at IIT Kanpur, Tewari recalls when their first venture mKhoj failed. Despite limited resources, they directed energies to InMobi, but thought of giving up every day. "It was the power of four that kept us going. Whenever one of us was on a downward spiral, the other three used to make him believe in the then seemingly impossible goal… We had each other’s back, no matter what."

Tewari also mentioned how being col lege buddies has showed up their eccentricities. "Sometimes, just for fun, we fight like crazy," he wrote. While co-founder Amit Gupta is in the US, Tewari said the other three live just a five-minute walk away. They often gather in one home or the other to discuss "a burning topic or to chat about some anecdote from our travels or just a joke that we want to share in person," he said, adding, "Our wives and kids have given up all hopes and have joined our madness too.".
