Prasad Sreeram shares how he managed to work from home while running a logistics company amidst the pandemic.
Cogos Technologies has been operating in several cities remotely. However, the COVID pandemic has brought a new normal with the whole operation while working from home.

Prasad Sreeram, CEO and Co-Founder of COGOS Technologies told ET Panache, "Thanks to our platform team, the whole office workflows have been moved to the cloud, while leveraging Microsoft 365 tools for communication and collaboration. The home office had to be set up to work for the extended hours which became new normal, while a lot of time is saved from travel, Dressing up in casuals has made it very comfortable."

COGOS is expanding and acquired an enterprise division of a peer logistics company during this lockdown. This division had operations in all metros and tier 1 cities, due to lockdown there was no way of physically travelling to evaluate the opportunity or performing ground diligence.

"We adapted first of its kind scientific methodology for mergers and acquisitions - human capital valuation. Where in human resources are evaluated virtually - online through a psychometric tool, along with financial and legal diligence. The acquisition was done successfully in an extremely short span of time. Logistics needs feet on the ground, with COVID - local lockdowns and varied directives at different cities, coordination with hundreds of locations was a huge challenge, while all the staff working from home. Hence we created a single platform across the country for collaboration - COGOS War room - with collective information at one place, made several dashboards to track operations live, enabling instant decision making, to strategically overcome the COVID challenges," he shared.

The thin line between professional and personal lives was totally invaded by the extended working from home. Keeping fit was a challenge as the work hours got stretched and sleep cycles disturbed.

Sreeram found the best recourse with Yoga, especially Surya namaskar.

“I have fine-tuned my baking skills. Although my wife Benaisha and I aren’t vegan, the rest of the house is. So, during the lockdown, vegan baking took centrestage. Benaisha makes the best chocolate mousse cake. It’s made with dates, almond flour and coconut milk — it’s a huge hit. I find baking therapeutic. It’s a precise activity where the outcome is as perfect as the work that goes into it. If you follow the instructions, the end result is good. I love that.”
