Twitter celebrates successful launch of 'Chandrayaan 3'; PM Modi, Mahesh Babu, Rishab Shetty congratulate ISRO

Several celebs took to social media, to gush about this milestone moment and congratulate ISRO on this momentous occasion.

Twitter was busy celebrating as ‘Chandrayaan 3’, ISRO’s (Indian Space Research Organisation) third mission to the moon, successfully took off from the Satish Dhawan Centre, Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

Several celebs took to social media, to gush about this milestone moment and congratulate ISRO on this momentous occasion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of the earliest to celebrate the occasion. Taking to Twitter, Modi wrote, “Chandrayaan-3 scripts a new chapter in India's space odyssey. It soars high, elevating the dreams and ambitions of every Indian. This momentous achievement is a testament to our scientists' relentless dedication. I salute their spirit and ingenuity!” The tweet went viral, accumulating 851K views and 57K likes.


Sachin Tendulkar, the GOAT of cricket (Greatest Of All Time) also penned an emotional post for the occasion. “ISRO’s payloads carry the dreams, pride, and belief of 1.4 billion Indians. Chandrayaan-3 launch swells all our hearts with pride. Congratulations to all our scientists for their untiring efforts. A memorable day for all Indians. Jai Hind!”

Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu was one of the high-profile celebs who celebrated the occasion. The ‘Pokiri’ star tweeted, “Onward to greater horizons! Thrilled to witness another momentous launch! Congratulations & all the best to the brilliant team at ISRO for the launch of #Chandrayaan3 today! Proud of you all!”

‘Kantara’ director and leading man Rishab Shetty also left a hearty note of congratulations to the ISRO.

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood wrote, “History Created.. proud moment for every Indian.”


Netizens also flooded the Twitter timeline with gleeful posts about the launch. Others also shared some rather hilarious memes about the mission.

Some pointed out a satire piece published in the New York Times, which depicted Indians as relatively backward and unable to undertake outer space missions.

The ISRO team is planning to land on the South Pole of the moon where water molecules have been found. They will spend one lunar day i.e. 14 Earth days on the moon, to investigate the soil, explore the moon, and record quakes.
