Twitter calls 'Atrangi Re' a masterpiece, fans applaud Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan's on-screen chemistry

Anand L Rai directorial 'Atrangi Re', which is a tale of a twisted and complex love triangle among three characters -- Rinku (Sara Ali Khan), Vishnu (Dhanush) and Sajjad (Akshay Kumar), released in India on December 24.

The film is already a hit with the masses who just can't stop singing praises for the actors, especially Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan who play pivotal roles in the movie.

'Atrangi Re' features Dhanush as Vishnu, a Tamil man, who is not very fluent in Hindi, while Khan plays the role of Pinki, who is a loud, assertive and confident girl. Kumar has a cameo in the film. The film follows a journey of three people in a triangle love story after a Tamil boy meets a girl from Bihar, who is in love with someone else.


According to fans, Dhanush, whose mother tongue isn't Hindi, "aced" his performance with his craft of emoting scenes and on-time dialogues delivery. Music by legend composer A R Rahman completes the film by binding every piece together.

With 'Atrangi Re', Dhanush reunited with the film-maker after eight years. The two had worked together in 2013 film 'Raanjhanaa' which also starred Sonam Kapoor. 'Atrangi Re' marks Dhanush's first Hindi-language movie in six years.

Besides Dhanush, Rai is also reteaming with music maestro Rahman on this film. So of course, audience was extremely excited to witness the magic the team has created in the film. Twitter called the film "enthralling".

One critic called Dhanush "an art" and rightly so. "In a pivotal scene of a mainstream Hindi film, can an actor's monologue be in another language (Tamil) n be able 2 convey it 2 the audience only thru the facial expressions n get an? It is said, 'Art is beyond languages, cultures and boundaries'," the person wrote.
