Twinkle remembers dad Rajesh Khanna on 80th birth anniversary; Akshay Kumar pens adorable note on wife's b'day

Actress-turned-author Twinkle Khanna shares her birthday with late actor-father Rajesh Khanna.

In an adorable post on Instagram, the writer took a trip down memory lane as she rang in her 48th birthday with the legendary actor's 80th birth anniversary.

Alongside a throwback picture with her late father, the black-and-white image features a young Twinkle smiling with the 'Anand' actor.


The 'Mela' star wrote in her caption, "A bittersweet shared birthday and a lifetime of memories."

Friends from the industry and fans took to the comment section to extend their birthday wishes. Bollywood stars Bobby Deol and Malaika Arora left heart emojis in the comments for the actor.

Khanna Sr, fondly called Kaka by his fans, made the world record of having 17 successive super-hits in three years from 1969-71, including 15 consecutive solo super-hit films. The actor-turned-politician was posthumously awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian honour, in 2013.

After quitting acting in 2001, Twinkle decided to make it big in literature, when she released her first book 'Mrs Funnybones' in 2015. Later, she wrote another book with short stories, titled 'The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad', in 2017. 'Pyjamas Are Forgiving' came out the following year.

Meanwhile, Khanna's actor-husband Akshay Kumar took to social media to share an adorable birthday wish for his wife.

In a fun 11-second-long video, the birthday girl could be seen singing and dancing in a baggy kaftan-like green dress.

He captioned his post, "While you may be glad to have missed my live performance the other day, I'm glad I get to witness you and all your madness every single day! But as much as I love you, I really think you should stop singing. And, happy birthday, Tina."


During the Christmas weekend, Kumar posted a video of him pretending to play the guitar, and dancing and lipsyncing to a Christmas song. He wore a black vest, blue trousers and dark sunglasses in the video.

His post read, "POV: Christmas vibes in Goa. Where nothing stays still - neither me, nor the camera :) #Christmas2022."

Soon after he dropped the video, Mrs Funnybones commented on his post, "I am so glad I was in the room and did not witness this." Kumar's b'day post for his wife was about her comment on his video.

Akshay-Twinkle tied the knot on January 17, 2001, and are proud parents of son Aarav (20) and daughter Nitara (10).
