Tweet becomes woof! Elon Musk changes Twitter blue bird logo to doge meme, Internet approves

The world's richest man, Elon Musk, on Tuesday took a late April fool's day gag and changed the display picture of his microblogging platform, Twitter's logo.

Musk changed the blue bird to an image of Shiba Inu, the ‘doge’ featured in viral memes. The doge image appears as users try to log in on Twitter before the meme image appears in place of the blue bird on the left side of the homepage.

As users on Twitter noticed the change with the blue bird logo, they started to talk about it on the microblogging platform.


Soon, the tech tycoon addressed the news with a meme. Classic Musk move!
Later, the Twitter CEO added another tweet: "As promised" along with a screenshot of his tweet conversation from last year with a user where the person had asked the billionaire to buy Twitter and change the bird logo to a doge.

Several users expressed their thoughts on Musk's announcement.
The popular online icon of Shiba Inu dog has become synonymous with Dogecoin, a type of cryptocurrency. Though Musk has not yet revealed the reason behind this change, many are speculating that this is a late Apple fool's day gag which the company couldn't implement on time.
"Promises made, promises kept," one Twitter user commented, while another wrote: "Thanks for making Twitter fun again! #Dogecoin to the moon!"
Last month, Twitter CEO had said that his interest has been switched from cryptocurrencies to artificial intelligence (AI).

Meanwhile in June 2022, the tech billionaire had said he would keep supporting and buying Dogecoin, a cryptocurrency he had been vouching about for years. Called 'Dogefather', Musk had long been a vocal proponent of Dogecoin and tweeted several times in the past to help spike the price of the digital token. After Musk changed Twitter's logo to Doge on Tuesday, the price of the digital currency shot up over 30 per cent.
