Tusshar Kapoor turns author with book on single fatherhood; Kareena, Tabu 'proud' of actor

Actor Tusshar Kapoor is all set to make his debut as an author with a book titled ‘Bachelor Dad’ published by Penguin . The book chronicles Kapoor’s journey as a single parent. The actor became a father in June 2016, through surrogacy, and welcomed his son Laksshya Kapoor. Through this book, he wanted to address the many questions single fathers face but do not know how to address.

In a statement released by the actor, he said, “I’ve been lucky that I’ve had the support of some amazing people on this journey but my decision to become a single father also raised several questions which I have tried to address on various media platforms, though the message has often been lost in translation…Perhaps that’s why I’m feeling joyous now, because part of my objective to write this book was to share an honest picture about my life, and that will finally be fulfilled.”

Kapoor will be narrating the book in his own voice and hopes that it inspires readers. The book is slated to release next month.


Ever since Kapoor made the announcement about the book on Instagram, several B-town celebrities have wished him good luck for this new venture. While Kareena Kapoor wrote, “

Best news. Congratulations darling Tusshar…”, actress Mallika Sherawat commented, “Can’t wait to read all about your exciting journey.”

Actress Tabu posted the book cover on her Instagram timeline and wrote, “My friend @tusshark89 is now a writer..with many congratulations.” She also shared the pre-order link of the book. Other actresses, who had been Kapoor’s contemporary like Esha Doel, and Amesha Patel also expressed interest in the book, and congratulated the actor on this new accomplishment.
