Redmi, the umbrella company of the Chinese manufacturer of consumer electronics, Xiaomi, has released a range of smartphones in this part of the world. The new Redmi smartphones mainly target budget and low-mid range buyers, who are looking for a decent phone with 4G/5G capability in the range of Rs. 6,000–16,000. The company has launched new phones, namely the Redmi 11 Prime 5G, 11 Prime 4G, and A1, ahead of the festive season. The launch event was live-streamed via official social media handles. What are the specifications of the new Redmi 11 series and A1?

Starting with the Redmi 11 Prime 5G, it is one of the most affordable 5G smartphones with dual-sim support. Powered by a 7nm MediaTek 700 Chipset, the Redmi 11 Prime 5G will be available with 4GB/64GB or 6GB RAM/128 GB of onboard storage. The smartphone also supports a virtual RAM booster for additional performance and efficiency.

The phone comes with a 6.58-inch full HD+ display featuring a 90 Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and multitasking. Moreover, it also supports Widewine L1 support, which allows full HD content on all major OTT platforms, including Youtube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. The phone comes with a 50MP rear camera and a depth sensor for Portrait mode, while there is an 8MP front camera. The phone features a massive 5000 mAh battery with a 22.5W fast charger. The 11 Prime 5G is available in three elegant colors: Chrome Silver, Meadow Green, and Thunder Black.


Coming to the Redmi 11 Prime 4G, the display of the smartphone is similar to its elder sibling. However, it differs in terms of design and build quality, with a diamond-cut texture. The phone derives its power from the Mediatek Helio G99 chipset, with the same RAM and storage options as the Prime 5G, as well as an identical 6.58-inch, 90 hertz display. It also gets the same 5000 mAh battery and a 22.5W fast charger in the box. The main camera is 50MP and has the same 2MP depth and 2MP macro sensor as the Prime 11 5G. The phone will be available in black, purple, and green models. Both the Prime 11 5G and 4G come with the Android-12-based MIUI 13 interface.



Other than these two, the Redmi A1 is for ultra-budget buyers. The phone features a MediaTek Helio A22 processor, running Android v12. Go Edition. As the phone aims at entry-level budget buyers, the RAM and storage are also limited to 2GB and 32GB, respectively. The smartphone features a 6.52-inch HD+ display and is available in classic light green, black, and light blue colour options.
