A six-city survey by an online store finds that Indian women are rejecting the staid when it comes to innerwear.

Attention, all men looking to gift their signifi cant others some lingerie. Boring black is out and colours are in. A survey conducted by online store Zivame across six cities — Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Pune — has revealed that female consumers are increasingly experimenting with their innerwear choices. Here are some of the findings:

-In 2015-16, sales of white, black and skin colours saw an 8 per cent decline as compared to 2014-15 in Mumbai. While sales from these traditional colours amounted to 50 per cent in 2014-15, in 2015-16, the sales from these colours amounted to 42 per cent in Mumbai.

-White showed the maximum decline among all the colours (4.6 per cent) followed by black (2 per cent).

-Blue, brown and green were the fastest growing colours in 2015-16 with blue contributing almost 12 per cent to the brand’s sales in Mumbai.

-Prints accounted for almost 10 per cent of sales in Mumbai in 2015-16.

-Sales of sexy lingerie have grown 96 per cent in 2015-2016 as compared to the previous year.
