Toxic ticket prices cross Rs 3,600 in India. What fans are paying to watch Yash's Kannada gangster-action film in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and more

One day to go! Yash's much-awaited film of the year, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, is all set to hit theatres worldwide on August 26. Starring Yash, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi and Nayanthara, among others, the film has already opened advance bookings. With premium ticket prices drawing attention and bookings moving quickly, the Geethu Mohandas directorial venture is creating plenty of buzz even before its release.

Toxic is already making an impact at the domestic box office through advance sales. If the early numbers are any indication, the action thriller could open strongly, with the original Kannada version currently ahead of its dubbed counterparts.

Toxic ticket prices cross Rs 3,600 in Bengaluru

Ticket prices for Toxic have become a talking point even before audiences get to see the film. While regular tickets are available from around Rs 150 in some locations in Mumbai, premium formats have pushed prices close to Rs 3,600 in Bengaluru.


Bengaluru, one of the biggest markets for Yash, has some of the most expensive tickets. At INOX M5 City, recliner seats are priced between Rs 2,000 and Rs 3,600. Meanwhile, recliner tickets at some PVR properties are available for around Rs 700 to Rs 1,600.

The difference in prices largely depends on the cinema, seating category and format. Fans opting for luxury recliners or premium viewing experiences are paying significantly more than those choosing regular screens.

In Delhi-NCR, the prices are comparatively lower. Tickets for Toxic at PVR IMAX are around Rs 600 to Rs 700, while some shows at PVR Naraina are priced in the range of Rs 240 to Rs 300.

Mumbai audiences are also seeing premium pricing. Tickets at some popular multiplexes are reportedly selling for between Rs 1,800 and Rs 2,100. Similar premium rates have been seen in cities such as Hyderabad, Pune and Kochi, particularly for IMAX and luxury seating.

Toxic advance booking: Kannada version leads

The high ticket prices have not stopped fans from booking their seats. According to Sacnilk, Toxic has recorded around Rs 18.73 crore in advance bookings within two days of the bookings opening.

The Kannada version is driving a significant portion of the total. It has contributed around Rs 9.59 crore, making it the leading language version so far. The Kannada IMAX 2D format has added approximately Rs 63.97 lakh, while the Kannada 4DX format has contributed around Rs 19.10 lakh.

The Hindi version is next, with the Hindi 2D version recording around Rs 7.65 crore. Its IMAX 2D format has contributed approximately Rs 20.29 lakh, while the Hindi 4DX version has collected around Rs 14.12 lakh. The Hindi Dolby Cine format has also registered advance sales.

The dubbed Tamil version has recorded around Rs 13.50 lakh, followed by Malayalam at approximately Rs 9.59 lakh and Telugu at around Rs 7.17 lakh.

With the Kannada market leading the numbers, the film appears to be benefiting strongly from Yash's popularity in his home industry.

Yash's Toxic targets a pan-India audience

Directed by Geethu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has been designed as a pan-India action thriller. The film has been made simultaneously in Kannada and English and dubbed into Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu.

Yash leads the film, while the cast brings together actors from several regional industries. Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi and Tara Sutaria add to the Hindi appeal, while Nayanthara gives the film a strong presence in the Tamil and Telugu markets. Rukmini Vasanth is also part of the cast, adding to the film's Kannada connection.

The film has been co-written by Geethu Mohandas and Yash. Its multilingual release also gives Toxic an opportunity to reach audiences beyond Karnataka and compete in multiple markets from its opening day.

The release timing could further work in its favour. Toxic arrives in theatres on August 26, coinciding with the Onam festive period, giving it an opportunity to attract audiences in Kerala and other southern markets.
