Toxic box office collections day 6: Yash, Kiara Advani's film fails crucial Monday test. Earns in single digits in India

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups had everything going for it before its theatrical release. Yash's return to the big screen after the blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2, Geetu Mohandas at the helm and a long wait had made the film one of the biggest Kannada releases of the year. However, the response after release has not matched the massive expectations. After opening strongly and showing some improvement over the weekend, the film faced a test on its first Monday.

The Day 6 numbers suggest that the film has started slowing down in the domestic market. According to Sacnilk.com, Toxic earned Rs 7.45 crore net in India on Monday. The film was screened across 13,400 shows on Day 6. While the movie has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in India in net collections, its single-digit Monday figure indicates that sustaining the initial momentum could be a challenge.

As per the available box office figures, Toxic has collected Rs 7.45 crore net in India on its sixth day. This takes its total India net collection to Rs 221.55 crore. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 264.80 crore.


The Monday figure becomes significant because the film had managed to keep its momentum going during the weekend. A strong weekday hold is usually important for a big-budget release, particularly one that has opened with considerable expectations. However, Toxic's Day 6 earnings have fallen into the single-digit range.

Toxic Worldwide Box Office Collection

The film's overseas performance has added to its overall tally. Toxic earned another Rs 2 crore gross from international markets on Day 6. Its overseas gross collection now stands at Rs 39.25 crore. Combining the domestic and overseas figures, the film's worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 304.05 crore.

Audience response remains mixed

Toxic arrived in theatres after multiple delays, which only increased curiosity around the project. Yash's popularity and the film's gangster backdrop had further raised expectations among fans. However, the response following its release has been largely underwhelming.

A section of the audience has praised the film's visual style and Yash's screen presence, but the screenplay has emerged as one of the major points of criticism. Some viewers have found the narrative difficult to follow, while others have objected to the film's intense violence.
