Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Virender Sehwag
Celebrity dermatologist and hair transplant specialist Dr. Gaurang Krishna, MD (AIIMS) and Director at MedLinks, recently opened up about how popular cricketers like Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Virender Sehwag dealt with hair loss and restored their confidence through timely intervention and expert care. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Dr. Krishna shared detailed insights about their treatments and the broader causes of hair loss among men.

Virender Sehwag’s Transformative Experience

According to Dr. Krishna, the most visible and satisfying results often come from hair transplants, and one of his most memorable patients was former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag. The doctor recalled that Sehwag had faced a poor experience earlier, which made him cautious about undergoing another procedure. However, after consulting with Dr. Krishna and proceeding carefully, Sehwag was highly pleased with the results.

Dr. Krishna said Sehwag was “really, really happy after his transplant” and continues to express appreciation for the outcome even after several years. He emphasized that Sehwag’s case stood out because of the precision involved and the positive transformation that followed.

Virat Kohli’s Preventive Approach

Discussing Virat Kohli, Dr. Krishna mentioned that the star batter began showing early signs of hair thinning. Kohli reportedly took quick action to address the issue before it worsened. The dermatologist clarified that Kohli did not undergo an extensive transplant but had minor corrective work done around his hairline. This proactive approach, he said, helped maintain a natural and consistent look without the need for major procedures later on.

Hardik Pandya’s Early Intervention

Similarly, Dr. Krishna explained that Hardik Pandya too noticed early hairline recession—something medically referred to as Grade 2 hair loss. Instead of ignoring it, Pandya acted in time and underwent corrective treatment. As a result, his hair remained well-maintained with regular care and medical therapy. Dr. Krishna pointed out that both Kohli and Pandya benefited from acting before the problem advanced.

Beyond individual cases, Dr. Krishna highlighted the broader factors contributing to hair loss. He explained that around 70 percent of baldness cases in both men and women are due to genetics. Another 20 percent are influenced by lifestyle and nutrition—issues such as stress, irregular sleep, and poor diet. The remaining 10 percent, he said, can be linked to external causes like hard water, pollution, and environmental damage.
