An arena once restricted to women is slowly opening its doors. Recent times have seen a lot of women surge forward and contribute to the stock trading and investment industry.

Meghana V Malkan, author and trading coach, was recently felicitated at the Times Power Women – West India 2018 for bringing about positive change in society as an Iconic Trading and Performance Coach.

With a degree in law, Meghana broke from the shackles of a corporate job 12 years ago to become a full-time stock trader. While on this journey, she was mentored by her husband, Vishal Malkan, who started to learn the tricks of the trade when he was 16.

After tasting success, the couple decided to help others get over their unfounded fears about stock trading, with the help of their training institute Malkansview.

Meghana believes that women empowerment is all about having the authority and power to do something and being aware of one’s rights and privileges. It is the ability to control one’s finances in a more meaningful and profitable way.

Women empowerment doesn’t just mean gender equality. It is also about having the authority and power to do something and becoming aware of one’s rights and privileges as well as the ability to control one’s life in a more meaningful and fulfilling way.

The Times Power Women – West India 2018, held at The Sofitel, powered by Vinay Aranha, celebrated such women who have brought about positive changes in society.

The event was graced by chief guest Amruta Fadnavis, actor Shabana Azmi, celebrity entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty, Masaba Gupta and more.

A sound investment

Given the volatile nature of the stock market and the inherent risks involved, people hesitate to take up trading as a full-time venture. However, the couple believes that this hesitation stems from inadequate knowledge, lack of strategy and confidence.

According to them, what a good stock trader needs is to ride the lows with equanimity and know that losses and adversity are in-built into the nature of this profession.

Meghana and Vishal have bucked most generalisations and have been in this trade for more than a decade. So, be it a homemaker, or a working professional, Malkansview promises to equip one with the requisite skills to turn you into a professional trader.

From seminars, webinars, live and online coaching programmes, the institute has trained thousands to take control of their financial future.

The duo has also co-authored the book #CASHTAGS – How Anyone Can Get Started in the Stock Markets and Level up as a Power Trader, which aims at providing simple solutions to stock trading issues.
