Tiger Shroff once opened up on seeing his home being sold as a child
Actor Tiger Shroff was attacked by three assailants in the Juhu area of Mumbai on Sunday but escaped unscathed. As per reports, he was seen returning to his residence in Mumbai. Tiger, the only son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff, made his Bollywood debut with the 2014 film Heropanti, which was a success. He also starred in a slew of successful movies such as Baaghi, Baaghi 2, Ganapath, etc. According to reports, he has a net worth of Rs 248 crore. Despite being the son of 90s superstar Jackie Shroff, Tiger is no stranger to financial difficulties. In an old interview with GQ, the actor said he personally witnessed his family's struggles with bankruptcy and their house being sold when he was 11.

He recalled how their furniture, lamps, and his mother’s beloved artwork all had to be sold off gradually. “Then my bed went. I started to sleep on the floor. It was the worst feeling of my life. I wanted to work at that age, but I knew I could do nothing to help,” he said.

In 2002, Boom, produced by Ayesha Shroff and directed by Kaizad Gustad, was leaked online before its theatrical release. The film featured Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Padma Lakshmi, Madhu Sapre, Zeenat Aman and Katrina Kaif, marking Katrina’s acting debut.

The piracy controversy led to distributors withdrawing from the project, but Jackie Shroff stepped in to ensure the film reached theatres. However, Boom performed poorly at the box office, plunging the Shroff family into financial difficulties. As a result, they were forced to sell their four-bedroom apartment in Bandra and relocate to a smaller home.

Tiger had once promised his mother he would buy their house back. By 2017, he had earned enough to fulfil that promise. However, his parents, though moved by his offer, decided to stay where they were living.
