Ties for a PM who is hot under the collar

Greek PM Alexis Tsipras says he will ditch the neck-tie till the Greek bailout happens. We asked three menswear experts to suggest a style of tie for Tsipras's big day, when and if it comes

Since his reason for wearing a tie again would be the bailout, the tie should reflect that emotion. A tie with a white base and quirky print will imply good times ahead. He could also go with a symbolic tie with the Greek flag printed on it. In India, Kumar Mangalam Birla carries off ties well.

If the bailout happens, I would suggest that the Greek Prime Minister wear a double knot with micro-geometric pattern with no fuss design, in a blue and silver combination — austerity at its best. But given where Tsipras is taking the country or how he has them in knots, he might be left without a shirt, let alone the tie.
