Thursday blues? Watch Ryan Gosling serenade Emma Stone in new 'La La Land' trailer

The first teaser for the hotly anticipated Damien Chazelle directed film ' La La Land' is finally out, and it appeals to all our whimsy musical dreams.

Ryan Gosling serenading Emma Stone with an original song, ' City of Stars', immediately makes us fall in love with the pair, who reunite after the 2011 romantic comedy 'Crazy, Stupid, Love'.



The film pays homage to traditional Hollywood musicals and also to the home of the stars, Los Angeles. Set in modern-day Los Angeles, this original musical, it follows the stories of Mia (Emma Stone), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian ( Ryan Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, who struggle to make ends meet in the city of angels, even as their dreams threaten to tear them apart.


The film also stars John Legend, J.K. Simmons, Rosemarie DeWitt and Finn Wittrock. It is set to open the Venice Film Festival on August 31, with a general release in December.
