For those who missed Thudakkam in theatres or want to watch the film again, the wait is nearly over. The movie will begin streaming on JioHotstar from September 18, 2026.The film will be available in Malayalam along with dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. This means the digital release will take the movie beyond its original Malayalam-speaking audience and make it available to viewers across several parts of India.
The streaming platform announced the digital premiere through its social media channels.
What is Thudakkam about?
Thudakkam follows Meenu, a young woman who is passionate about martial arts and runs a local training institute in a hill village. She lives with her specially-abled father, Ravi, who works as a village officer.Meenu’s life changes after she helps two schoolgirls get home safely. The seemingly simple act puts her in the path of a dangerous man with a mysterious past. What follows is a series of increasingly disturbing incidents as the stranger begins stalking her and the threat eventually comes much closer to her family.
The film moves into a survival drama as Meenu is forced to confront the danger using the martial arts skills she has developed over the years. The action portions also draw from Vismaya’s real-life Muay Thai training.
Vismaya Mohanlal leads the cast
Thudakkam marks the acting debut of both Vismaya Mohanlal and Aashish Joe Antony, the son of producer Antony Perumbavoor. Vismaya plays Meenu, while Aashish takes on the role of the antagonist.Mohanlal also has a special appearance in the movie as Meenu’s martial arts master. His appearance comes at an important point in the story and includes an action sequence.
