Celebrated since 2009, World Gin Day is always the second Saturday in June, founded by Neil Houston and Emma Stokes, the great gin connoisseurs. The day is meant to commemorate and celebrate the King of all spirits, gin, in all its glory.

While you cannot go to your nearest bar and sip on delicious gin cocktails, thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, you can always be your bartender and whip up delicious gin-based cocktails in the comfort of your home.

Follow these five easy-peasy lemon-squeezy recipes and raise a tall glass to World Gin Day!

Ingredients

Monkey 47 gin: 60 ml
Tonic water: 200 ml
Radish and red chicory juice: 30 ml
Radish (cut into thin slices): 1
Rosemary sprig
Lavender sprig

Method

-Place the ice into a large red wine glass. Take the radishes and red chicory and extract the juice
-Pour the juice over the ice then slowly add the gin and tonic, give it a gentle stir and garnish with sliced radishes, rosemary sprig, lavender and a sprinkle of juniper berries

Ingredients

Tanqueray London Dry Gin: 45 ml
Tonic: 150 ml
Mango juice
Mint spring: 2
Star Anise: 1
Raw Mango: 2

Method


-Add the gin and mango juice to a glass and stir
-Then tap the mint spring and add the star anise
-Fill the glass with crushed ice, top it up with tonic and stir well
-Garnish with Mint Spring and Raw Mango

Tanqueray London Dry Gin: 60 ml
Cranberry juice: 30 ml
Lime juice: 10 ml
Tonic: 60 ml
Soda: 60 ml
Fresh Thyme: 1

Method


-To a glass add the gin, cranberry juice, lime juice
-Tap the thyme, fill the glass the ice, top it up with tonic, soda and stir well
-Garnish with a thyme spring

Beefeater dry gin: 60 ml
Mango puree: 60 ml
Lemon juice: 25 ml
Soda to top
Fresh mango/ orange wedge: 1

Method

-Shake the gin, mango puree and lemon juice in a shaker with ice
-Pour into a tall glass filled with ice
-Top with soda, stir and garnish with fresh mango

Top with tonic water

-Fill a tall glass with ice
-Pour the gin, lemon juice and pineapple juice over the ice and stir briefly
-Top with tonic water, stir and garnish with fresh pineapple
