Sahil Singh, once a street vendor selling wallets in Mumbai and delivering food and milk, always dreamed of becoming a model. Forced to drop out of school due to financial hardships, he relentlessly worked on grooming himself for the industry, despite facing multiple rejections. In a recent interview, he shared his journey of resilience, revealing how he navigated life's challenges and pursued his dreams against all odds.

In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Sahil Singh shared his inspiring journey from financial struggles to achieving his dream of becoming a model. In 2011, while selling wallets on the streets of Mumbai, he spotted a billboard announcing auditions. Despite having no money for school, the idea of modeling sparked a dream within him.

His family’s financial troubles had forced them to move to a chawl, and after completing fourth grade, he had to drop out due to unpaid fees. Determined to continue his education, he took up stitching work and street vending, saving Rs 5,600 to re-enroll in school. His daily routine was relentless—delivering milk at dawn, attending classes, and delivering food late into the night. Amidst the struggle, modeling took a backseat until eight years later when a competition at his school reignited his passion.



Determined to succeed, Sahil began studying top models, improving his skills, and refining his appearance. Rejections and criticisms only fueled his growth—he practiced face massage techniques to enhance his facial features and stretching exercises to increase his height. Despite skepticism from others, he remained steadfast in his pursuit.

In 2024, his perseverance paid off when he was invited to model for a fashion show. Overwhelmed with emotion, he reflected on the 200 auditions he had faced before finally stepping onto the runway. Since then, he has worked with multiple brands and even received a call for Tokyo Fashion Week.
