New routine
“The pandemic has given us more reasons to pay attention to our overall well-being, both physical and mental. My work-life before the pandemic involved a lot of travelling and hence, I wasn’t able to follow a fitness regime. Now, though there are certain other temptations as well, I make sure that walking, jogging, and meditation are a constant part of my daily activities.

Home gym
“I have chalked out a fitness regime focusing on aerobic functions. It improves cardiovascular health and boosts immunity. I started with a 30-minute walk in the night after work and later graduated to jogging for an hour. This gives me all the required boost and mood rejuvenation. I also have set up a small gym on my balcony with the addition of a stationary cycling machine and some weights.

Green thumb
“It has not been long since I picked up a new hobby: gardening. I make it a point to maintain a small green corner in my home. It makes me feel closer to nature.”

De-stressing
“Mood follows action. You don’t need to feel good to get going, you need to get going, and then you’ll feel good. And this has been very true in my case. It is always important to spend some quality time with your dear ones and that’s my secret to mental well-being. Yoga and meditation have also helped me immensely in this regard. Unlike sitting in Zen for hours, a few minutes of meditation resets me before resuming the task at hand. I am also a proud dog parent to a German shepherd. I try to take a few quick breaks whenever possible to play with her and then come back to work rejuvenated.”

WFH wardrobe
“They say that the body achieves what the mind believes. I believe that the opposite is also true. So, it is important to maintain the right frame of mind for every situation. If you stay in your comfort zone, work in your pyjamas, and make your bed the workstation, your mind is going to slack sooner or later. This is why I make it a point to dress like I usually would while going to the office every day.”
