This is what Christian Louboutin and Rajesh Khanna have in common

There are several things to do when in Mumbai, but on high-end fashion designer Christian Louboutin’s ‘must-do’ list is visiting a South Mumbai restaurant. “I have to go to this restaurant that I visited when I first arrived at 16. It was prohibition at the time so you could not drink, so they served beer in tea pots and there was sand on the floor. It’s a restaurant called Gaylord.”

While Gaylord is no stranger to famous patrons, Dhruv Lamba , executive director and owner of the restaurants was thrilled. “We are honoured to have hosted the legendary Christian Louboutin.”

Louboutin finds himself in the company of many a famous personality who has been a Gaylord loyalist such as Raj Kapoor, Shankar Jaikishan and Rajesh Khanna .“There was a table where Shankar Jaikishan would always sit. Rajesh Khanna used to come to our restaurant even before he became a star and remained one of our frequent customers,” Lamba recalled.
