This 16-yr-old wants to bring environmental well-being in the economic realm
Sixteen-year-old Anoushka Puri has developed an early love for economics. A student of Bishop Cotton Girls’ School, Bengaluru, Puri has had a stellar performance in the ICSE board exams securing a perfect 100 in Mathematics and 99 in Science, 99 in Commercial Applications and 99 in Hindi.

Apart from her academics, Puri is an avid reader. A few of her favourite books are Muhammad Yunus’s Banker to the Poor and Doughnut Economics by Kate Raworth. For an eleventh grader, Puri has developed a deep awareness towards the disparity of income that exists in today’s world. “This inequality struck me,” she says.

Puri is currently working on her website ‘Ecsonomics.com’. She says, “The Ecsonomics ideology is ‘beyond growth’. Ecsonomics aims to create a revolution in the world of economics by encompassing social welfare and environmental well-being in the economic realm.”
