Things get heated at Delhi's EOW office; Jacqueline Fernandez & Pinky Irani engage in war of words during questioning

Bollywood diva Jacqueline Fernandez reportedly engaged in a heated argument with Pinky Irani during the questioning by Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in connection with the Rs 200 crore extortion-cum-money-laundering case involving alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

Irani, who allegedly introduced Fernandez to Chandrashekhar, was first interrogated separately, and then brought in for questioning with the actress.

According to ANI, an EOW source revealed that the two kept arguing and accusing each other of lying for around two hours.


While Irani accused the actress of accepting gifts from the conman, despite knowing how he scammed people of Rs 200 crore, Fernandez claimed she did not know anything about Chandrashekhar's background and said Irani was lying. After both started reportedly abusing each other, the police intervened.

On Wednesday, Fernandez was questioned for over eight hours in connection with the case and her relationship with Chandrashekhar. She will be called again for questioning but the date has not been fixed yet.

During the interrogation, the 'Housefull 3' star admitted to having been in a relationship with him for six months, but claimed that she did not know about his activities, a police officer revealed on condition of anonymity to PTI.

Actress Nora Fatehi has also been summoned by EOW on Thursday at 11 AM. Although the agency has already questioned Nora Fatehi for six to seven hours in the case and has recorded her statement, there are "certain unanswered questions" the cops want answers to.

The officials have denied any direct link between the two actresses.

Chandrashekhar, who is currently in jail, is accused of cheating various people, including high-profile individuals such as former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh's wife Aditi Singh.

Fatehi was earlier questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the case.

On August 17, the ED filed a charge sheet naming Fernandez as an accused in a multi-crore money laundering case linked to Chandrashekhar. According to the ED, Fatehi and Fernandez received luxury cars and other expensive gifts from him.
